The National Committee for the Care of Prisoners, Released Prisoners and Their Families in Qassim, cooperating with Qassim Prisons Administration, shared inmates' Eid Al-Fitr celebrations through events intended to connect prisoners with their community through national, religious and social occasions.

Committee director Hamad Al-Tabib said Eid Al-Fitr 1437 AH celebrations in Buraidah, Unaizah, Al Rass, the women's prison and the social observation home benefited more than 1,000 inmates. Tarahum introduced new activities, attracting poets and religious singers and increasing entertainment, events and prizes. Its gifts for inmates' children were a welcome gesture bringing joy.

Committee advisor Sheikh Mohammed Al-Ghudayyah conveyed inmates' feelings during Eid, saying they regarded these programmes as a welcome outlet. Abdulrahman Al-Jawhar, Tarahum's Unaizah representative, described their happiness and said the support reflected community love, compassion and solidarity.

Fahad Al-Radhi, supervisor of Al Rass Prison's Eid programme, said inmates were filled with joy. Such purposeful social programmes strengthened their determination to repay society's support and become constructive members of their country.

Women's-section supervisor Zahwah Al-Awad said Tarahum Qassim was committed to caring for female inmates and children whose circumstances required staying with them during their sentences. With colleague and preacher Madhawi Al-Ghudayyah's efforts, an integrated women's-prison programme was prepared, bringing joy to inmates and their children, who bear no blame. After guidance remarks and purposeful competitions, celebrations provided sweets, juice, pastries, children's toys and bags of women's necessities.

Committee chairman Sulaiman bin Ibrahim Al-Omari emphasized that Tarahum exists for inmates, released prisoners and their families. Such programmes seek to reunite inmates with their children, strengthen affection and family bonds, and affirm that they remain part of a community that will not abandon them and hopes for their improvement. He described Qassim Prisons Administration as an essential partner and said the efforts followed the direction of Qassim's governor, the committee's honorary president, who prioritizes rehabilitation and regards inmates as a valuable national resource.

He also thanked Major General Abdulmohsen bin Mohammed Al-Taweel, director-general of Qassim Prisons, for removing obstacles and facilitating programmes inside regional prisons.
