Jeddah Astronomy: Orionids Peak Expected on Wednesday Night

Jeddah Astronomical Society president Majed Abu Zahra said the Orionids meteor shower was expected to peak from Wednesday night, October 21, until dawn on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
He said the theoretical rate could reach around 20 meteors per hour under ideal conditions, while actual observations vary with sky clarity, lighting and the moon. The Orionids originate from particles left by Halley's Comet, with better viewing from dark locations after midnight and before dawn.
