Planting male frankincense "Kandar" in Najran opens up areas for diversifying agricultural activities and developing industries related to perfumes, incense and cosmetics, through linking agriculture with harvesting, processing and packaging.
Engineer Maroof Al-Musharri, director of the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Najran, stated that expansion requires studies on climatic characteristics, soil and water needs and evaluation of field experiments. A farmer and agricultural expert also pointed out the importance of improving production, sorting and packaging, and studying costs and revenues before converting the idea into an investment project.
